World Tourism Day provided Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management a unique opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and move forward to ensure the positive impact of well-managed tourism on inclusive and equitable growth, sustainable development and peace on September 27th 2017. The uniqueness of this day was marked by a Plantation Drive, Tourism Walk and a guest lecture by an eminent academician and tourism expert Mr Susheel Saxena. The day started with the Plantation of saplings in front of newly built Block A of the University. The importance of celebrating the day was enhanced by an oath taking ceremony and Tourism Walk initiated by the Dean. The students visited the entire university with banners and slogans while handing little potted plants to Deans, HODs and faculty members in order to encourage the practice of sustainable tourism and educating one and all about the universal accessibility of tourism. Mr Susheel Saxena shared his insights, his rich experience in the tourism sector and informed about a plethora of opportunities which exist for hospitality professionals worldwide.
