“I am on a seafood diet. I see food and I eat it”…..this anonymous quote speaks volumes of the visual power of food. Food styling and photography are mandatory traits for any culinary experts and so to train the young food enthusiasts Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management invited Chef Shakesh Singh, a food Stylist, Photographer and Trainer par excellence to conduct an interesting workshop on Food Styling and Photography on April 20, 2017. He demonstrated the finer nuances about food plating and briefed about basic food photography.
Shakesh an author of two bestselling Books – Simplifying Indian Cuisine and Bhansaghar, writes extensively on Indian cuisine in terms of their concepts, origin, procedure involved & presentations. He mentors young students and passionate entrepreneurs to start up their food business and also trains foodies to present and capture their dishes creatively.
The students under the guidance of Chef Shakesh tried their hand at making various presentations and taking photographs. It was an interesting exercise and went a long way in giving idea to students about endless possibilities and triggered their minds towards this innovative field. The session was wound up by Chef Shakesh giving various principles to be followed in creating a food presentation.
