Wine is win with an E on the end” with this spirit in our hearts an enlightening Wine Appreciation Workshop called “Tasse de vie” which means Cup of Life was organized by Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management, in liaison with Sula Vineyards on March 24th 2017.
Ms. Zaheen Khatri Brand Ambassador, Tastings & Marketing, Sula Vinyards made an interesting presentation and opened young minds to the magical world of wines. Her deliberations were on the history of wines and viticulture, focusing on terroir which is a set of all environmental factors that affect a crop’s epigenetic qualities, when the crop is grown in a specific habitat and how it affects the wine.
She elaborated about different types of wine, how to read a wine label, how to demarcate a good wine from a bad one and how to taste and relish wine.
The students got a wonderful exposure and an opportunity to taste white, red and sparkling wine, understand and appreciate the tastes. They could understand the variations of taste due to various ingredients used. On the service front they got to learn the reasons behind specific glassware used and prevalent customs related to presentation of wine to a guest.
All students, Guest and faculty members participated wholeheartedly in the interactive session.
